At FoxPaperGrove, we recognize that plans can alter, and we are committed to ensuring our refund policies are clear and honest. This document sets out the circumstances in which refunds might be granted for our yacht charter services.
Before confirming a booking, it's important to acquaint yourself with this policy thoroughly. Completing a reservation with FoxPaperGrove means you accept and consent to these refund conditions.
Standard Cancellation and Refund Timetable
More than 72 Hours Before Charter
Qualified for: Entire refund excluding handling charges
Processing Duration: 5-7 working days
Handling Charge: €50 on credit card transactions
Requirement: Must be submitted in written form via electronic mail or telephone
24-72 Hours Before Charter
Qualified for: Half of the overall charter cost
Processing Duration: 7-10 working days
Handling Charge: €25 taken from the refund
Requirement: Legitimate rationale needed; administrative expenses incurred
Less than 24 Hours Before Charter
Qualified for: No reimbursement provided
Exception: Cases of emergency might be taken into account
Alternative: Charter voucher might be proposed at the judgment of management
Requirement: Documentation obligatory for emergency petitions
Cancellations Due to Weather
Our Weather Guarantee
Your safety is our foremost concern. Should the weather conditions not be safe for charter operations, as decided by our licensed captain, you will be presented with flexible alternatives:
- Full Refund: Available if rescheduling cannot be accommodated
- Reschedule: Transfer your charter to an alternative date without extra costs
- Charter Credit: Issued, valid for one year from the initial charter date
Weather Review Procedure
Our evaluation of weather factors includes:
- Reviewing wind patterns and speed
- Sea condition and wave intensity
- Visibility and forecasted precipitation
- Maritime advisories and signals
- Assessment of the captain regarding safety measures
Decision Timing: Decisions concerning weather cancellations are made not later than 4 hours prior to the planned departure.
Medical Urgency Refunds
Special Circumstances
We realize that health emergencies can happen unexpectedly. The subsequent scenarios may be eligible for special review:
- Immediate medical conditions or accidents requiring hospital treatment
- Demise within the close family circle
- Requisite to fulfill military obligations or unforeseen call-ups
- Official legal obligations or subpoena
- Severe natural events impeding travel
Verification Needed
For us to consider a medical emergency refund, supply the following proofs:
- Authorities' health certificate or hospital reports
- A death certification, when appropriate
- Gazetted military instructions
- Legal requests or notices of compulsory attendance
- Notices of impediments or state emergency bulletins
Processing: Refunds based on emergencies are processed within a timeline of 3-5 business days once proper paperwork has been received.
Cancellations for Operational Reasons
Vessel Non-Operational
Should the boat designated to you encounter mechanical issues that cannot be resolved promptly:
- Alternate Vessel: An attempt to offer an equivalent replacement
- Full Refund: Provided if no similar vessel can be arranged
- Partial Refund: Issued if the substitute vessel is differently priced
- Compensation: Possible further amenity for any inconvenience occurred
Crew Availability Issues
In the uncommon event that a certified crew is not available:
- An attempt to find a replacement crew
- Entire refund if the charter is unable to proceed
- Option to reschedule without any extra charges
Refund Execution
Original Payment Reversion
Approved refunds will revert to the payment method initially used:
- Credit Cards: Reflected within 5-7 working days
- Bank Transfers: Processed over 7-10 working days
- Cash/Cheque: Settled within 3-5 business days
Assessment Fees
Credit Card Settlements
€50 charge for cancellations notified more than 72 hours in advance
Bank Transfer Settlements
€25 charge for all refunded bank transfers
Cross-Border Processing
Additional fees could be applicable for international financial operations
Charter Vouchers
Instances for Voucher Issuance
Charter vouchers might be proposed instead of monetary refunds under certain scenarios:
- Late cancellations (less than 24 hours notice)
- Cancellations due to weather
- Voluntary requests to alter schedules
- Unforeseen operational disruptions
Voucher Conditions
- Validity: Good for one year from the date of issuance
- Transferrability: Not assignable to other individuals
- Monetary Value: Equal to the whole value of the charter (no deductibles)
- Application: Redeemable against any future charter
- Expiration: Must be redeemed within the 12-month limit without exceptions
Partial Reimbursements for Service Disruptions
Interruptions During Service
If your charter experiences unnecessary interruptions or premature ending due to factors we can control:
- A refund proportional to the unutilized period
- Credit for a future equal-value charter
- Complimentary offerings or service upgrades
Interruptions Owing to Guests
In cases where the charter has to be prematurely concluded because of guest behavior or safety breaches:
- No refund for the unutilized portion
- Full charter fees remain payable
- Supplementary fees might be levied
Arbitrating Disputes
Disputes over refund decisions can be dealt with by:
- A management team review
- Provision of additional evidence or forms
- Intervention through consumer rights organizations
- Legal recourse according to the relevant statutes

Step 3: Evaluation and Completion
Our personnel will acknowledge your request inside a day, assess it relative to this policy, provide a judgment within two days, and carry out conforming reimbursements within the specified timeframes.
Advisory Notices
- All applications for refunds must be conveyed in writing
- Reimbursements are delivered in € regardless of the original transaction currency
- Purchasing travel coverage is highly suggested
- Terms of this policy are open to amendments with a month's notice
- Refunds adhere to relevant tax laws and regulatory directives
